Position Description: The JSC Fellow working with the Diocese of NC will serve ministries that specifically center historically Black congregations and worshiping communities across the diocese. The burial ground special project will restore the final resting places of the formerly enslaved, the members of historic Black congregations, and the citizens of their wider communities. Fellows spend 32 hours a week working with this organization, with some evening and weekend commitments.

It is built and focused on the five diocesan mission priorities: Racial Reckoning, Justice & Healing, Congregational Vitality, Collaboration & New Communities, Formation, and Creation Care. Every person has a contribution to make, and every contribution, whether big or small, takes us one step closer to Becoming Beloved Community.
Johnson Service Corps is a diverse, ecumenical community of young adults ages 21 to 28 dedicated to service and justice in Durham, NC. The year starts mid-August and goes through June; it is steeped in volunteer service, professional development, vocational discernment, justice training, intentional community living, and spiritual formation. You volunteer 32 hours a week at various nonprofit organizations throughout the Triangle area. In addition, we provide housing, a shared grocery budget, group counseling, spiritual retreats, health insurance, mentorship, a monthly stipend ($500/a month), and a completion bonus ($1000 at the end of the program year).
